Vintage Japanese 5" Rolling Pin GLASS FISHING FLOAT.. Bubbles and Striations (#37)
This float is what is known as a Japanese Rolling Pin Float because of its appearance that looks like a traditional rolling pin. It approximately 5" long and a little less than 2" in diameter. It is made of hand blown glass. This is a Japanese fishing float that was actually used and has spent much of its life at sea. It has been picked out of many beachcombed and Japanese rolling pin fishing floats to offer because of its unique qualities and characteristics. Its thick heavy glass contains impurities, inclusions and bubbles that are intrinsic to the Japanese manufacturing process. It is in good and sound condition with the normal wear one finds on fishing floats that have survived years of use in the ocean. The float is has thick glass with bubbles. Every vintage float is different and this one has many beautiful unique features (see photos).
