This is a Japanese glass fishing float with full net. It is approximately 11 1/2" inches in circumference (including net). It is made of hand blown glass. This Japanese fishing float was actually used and has spent its life at sea. It has been picked out of hundreds of beachcombed and Japanese floats to offer because of its unique qualities and characteristics. Its thick heavy glass contains impurities, inclusions and bubbles that are intrinsic to the Japanese manufacturing process. This float most likely spent many years at sea before it was found with water inside it. This is a very collectible rare float that will be a great addition to any collection. This float is very rare in that it has water trapped inside it. There is a small amount of water on the inside of the float. It is a tiny amount of water but is enough water to see in photos but can be observed even more easily in person (see photos). The water has been in the float since it was found many years ago and has not come out. It is believed that in rare circumstances water gets inside floats through tiny holes or fractures that are very small and not visible. This happens when the float is submerged and under pressure. This is a very collectible rare float that will be a great addition to any collection.
