Vintage 13" In Circumference Japanese GLASS FISHING FLOAT Bubbles, Odd Shape (#20)
This float is approximately 13 inches in circumference (*see note below regarding the circumference measurement). It is made of hand blown glass. This is a Japanese fishing float that was actually used and has spent its life at sea. It has been picked out of hundreds of beachcombed floats to offer because of its unique qualities and characteristics. Its thick heavy glass contains impurities, inclusions and bubbles that are intrinsic to the Japanese manufacturing process. It is in good and sound condition with the normal wear one finds on fishing floats that have survived years in the ocean. The float is a beautiful aqua-green color. It has nice thick hand blown glass with many tiny bubbles and has an unusual slightly non round odd shape because of depressions on its surface (see photos). There is a noticeable depression on one side of its top giving it an unusual shape (see photos). This float is a rare find because of its nice color, thick hand blown glass with many tiny bubbles and unusual shape.
*NOTE: The distance around a sphere, or in this case a float, is known as the circumference.
