1940s Deco Glass Beater Whipper Mixer Jar W Red Lid.. Betene Hollywood Mixtir
A vintage mixer jar with nice Art Deco ribbed design and red painted screw top and red wood plunger handle. It is a plunger style mixer that was produced in the 1940's and was marketed as the "BETENE HOLLYWOOD MIXTIR". It was originally advertised as the "Betene Hollywood Mixstir. It stirs, it whirls, it mixes. For cream whipping, milk shakes, malted drinks, fruit juices. No splash, no mess". Betene was a 1940's vitamin health drink and this mixer was most likely a promotional item. The jar measures approximately 10.5" tall when the lid and handle are on (7 3/4" tall without top). It has measurements from 4 oz. to 24 oz. embossed on one side. The plunger style dasher has a perforated steel disc at the end of the handle. The metal disc is marked "Chicago Precision Prod Corp. Pat. Pend." The bottom of the jar is embossed in script "Duraglas" but is difficult to read. There is minor wear to the red top (see photos). Overall it is in good vintage pre-owned condition (see Photos)
