Vintage Japanese Glass FISHING FLOAT.. Net, Sky Blue & Rare "DG" Maker's Mark (#12)

This is a Japanese glass fishing float. It is approximately 8" inches in circumference including its net (see note below regarding the circumference measurement). It is a beautiful sky blue color and has a makers mark "DG" (see photos). It is made of hand blown glass. This Japanese fishing float was actually used and has spent its life at sea. It has been picked out of hundreds of beachcombed and Japanese floats to offer because of its unique qualities and characteristics. Its thick heavy glass contains impurities, inclusions and bubbles that are intrinsic to the Japanese manufacturing process. It is in good and sound condition with the normal wear one finds on fishing floats that have survived years of use in the ocean. This is a rare float also because it has a maker's mark on its pontil. (see photos). It is rare for small floats of this size to be marked. This is a very collectible rare float that will be a great addition to any collection.
